Emotional Response 2020-2021
Papillon
Inspired by emotional response, considering what drives human feelings and how outside influences effect our mental state during times of anxiety and isolation. Within my work I wanted to explore the struggle that is endured through these emotionally difficult feelings of anxiety, wanting to represent the emotional fight, and capture the path from distress, through endurance, to resurrection, which represents the inner fight.
Shifting Sands

Three Stages of Woman
Inspired by the Triple goddess, I created sculptures that embrace each other yet show their individuality at the stages of maiden, mother and crone, as they are seen on an idealised path set by society.

Embrace
With vulnerability and strength, we struggle and yet adapt to situations that face us. Our experiences and fears manifest themselves emotionally, and physically but are not always obvious to the naked eye. This project allowed me to explore our fear of imperfection, and create sculptures that become entangled with the emotional scars and in doing so become naturally beautiful.
Craving Colour

Experimenting with surface texture, and inclusions, this project allowed me to explore emotional connections to colour, the absence of colour, and investigate the affects this has with emotional association.
